“Hello! My name is Elizabeth Tyson. I am 18 years old and have been dancing for 12 years! I’ve trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, and some Fosse. I love teaching little kids and have followed in my mother’s footsteps by watching her work since I was a little kid. I love dance and hope to have a bit of a professional career one day!” 💛

🎗️We’d love to welcome our master class choreographer: Cat🎗️

Cat is a queer multidisciplinary movement artist. They received their BFA in Dance from Bennington College under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield, and was an active part of the survival of this program after the sudden closure of UArts. Cat has deeply studied a multitude of dance forms, including house, locking, hip hop, improvisation, contemporary forms and more, informing their unique blend of physical textures that exist in deep collaboration with sound. They dance in a whirlwind of unbounded energy, moving from the deep chambers of the heart, protesting pressures of conformity by grooving through the sensorial, expressive, moving body.
As a teacher, cat is passionate about sharing dance as a language of self expression, unique to each person that embodies the dance. They aim to instill joy, love, and care in community through each move.

She loves watching other people create and can’t wait to create with you baddies and support this baddie cause🤗

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month 💙Colon cancer has impacted many lives—including the people who inspired Dancers Cure Cancer Foundation to begin. It’s the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths, but early detection can increase survival rates to over 90%.

Doctors now recommend screening at age 45—or earlier if you have a family history. Symptoms like changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, or persistent abdominal pain should never be ignored.

Let’s raise awareness, push for early detection, and stand with those affected. Together, we can make a difference. 💙

Sammie Wiegner is in 11 grade, and she is 17 years old. Sammie has been dancing at KMC Dance since she was 5. She is also apart of Reverb Dance Collective and Beat Addikts United and ASH Company as a Captain. Her favorite style of dance is hiphop.
